POSTER

Image
ARTIST STATEMENT: For my poster, I selected a self-portrait of me at the beach, my favorite place on earth. Not only is our world dying but so is our oceans. Garbage and oils and chemicals flood our waters, destroying sea life and their homes. I chose to keep the photo black and white and color the different parts of the oceans blue to people can see the emphasis on the waters.                    For the animated look, I placed the image on illustrator and image traced it. Moving from black and white I switched to grey and white and then adjusted everything from there. Trace without lines allowed me to get in every little detail from the water.

Coloured Logos

Artist Statement: For my logo I chose to have my zodiac sign layered over the sun. I was born on January 21 making me an Aquarius. Astrology is something I'm very interested in and passionate about that having this symbol as my logo is something very important to me. I actually have the tattoo of the symbol of the two waves on my hip. Although aquarians are air signs they are water barriers, hence the color chosen for that fill is blue. As far as the sun goes, I lived in Tampa for most of my life and grew up in the sun. The sun is one of my favorite symbols to doodle, wear, and represent as something as myself. The colors chosen in the sun ray are a yellow and orange gradient. This gradient is the perfect combination to exemplify colors of the sun. I chose to keep the center of the sun a hollow white because I felt it emphasized the blue, yellow and orange and not draw attention away from the two waves.
