POSTER

Image
ARTIST STATEMENT: For my poster, I selected a self-portrait of me at the beach, my favorite place on earth. Not only is our world dying but so is our oceans. Garbage and oils and chemicals flood our waters, destroying sea life and their homes. I chose to keep the photo black and white and color the different parts of the oceans blue to people can see the emphasis on the waters.                    For the animated look, I placed the image on illustrator and image traced it. Moving from black and white I switched to grey and white and then adjusted everything from there. Trace without lines allowed me to get in every little detail from the water.

Coloured Logos

Artist Statement: For my logo I chose to have my zodiac sign layered over the sun. I was born on January 21 making me an Aquarius. Astrology is something I'm very interested in and passionate about that having this symbol as my logo is something very important to me. I actually have the tattoo of the symbol of the two waves on my hip. Although aquarians are air signs they are water barriers, hence the color chosen for that fill is blue. As far as the sun goes, I lived in Tampa for most of my life and grew up in the sun. The sun is one of my favorite symbols to doodle, wear, and represent as something as myself. The colors chosen in the sun ray are a yellow and orange gradient. This gradient is the perfect combination to exemplify colors of the sun. I chose to keep the center of the sun a hollow white because I felt it emphasized the blue, yellow and orange and not draw attention away from the two waves.

POEM

Artist Statement: For this project I wanted to use my favorite poem, and that's from the film, The !0 Things I Hate About You. The main female lead, Morgan, read this poem to Heather Ledger's character. I felt that his face and emotion would be the perfect picture for this project  POEM:   I hate the way you talk to me And the way you cut your hair I hate the way you drive my car I hate it when you stare I hate your big dumb combat boots And the way you read my mind I hate you so much, that it makes me sick And even makes me rhyme I hate the way you're always right I hate it when you lie I hate it when you make me laugh Even worse when you make me cry I hate it when you not around And the fact that you didn't call But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you Not even close Not even a little bit Not even at all

CREATIVE PROJECT

Image
Hours worked: 10.5 Concept statement: For my creative project, I created an abstract impression of my bulldog Rupert. I figured I wanted to work with something I love and I love my dog. I composed his head and body of geometric shapes, including his distinct feature of his crooked jaw, emphasizing his one tooth and hanging tongue. After finishing the project, I realized I could've added more, such as his nose, a name or letter on the dog tag, a more interesting background and details like that. What . makes my piece successful is that it's very simple and minimal, you can tell that a beginner composed this, but I am very pleases with the work I have put in for this. Shapes used: 1 square 3 triangels 7 circles 1 trapezoid 1 arc (his collar) 1 quadratic curve (his tongue) 1 bezier curve (his crooked jaw structure) CODE: <!document> <html> <head> <script> window.onload = function() { var canvas = document.getElementById(...

First Blog Assignment

For my first blog post, I will be telling you a little bit about myself and feelings and expectations for FMX 21    My name is Morgan Viola, I'm a sophomore at the University of Tampa studying Advertising and Public Relations with a minor in Communications. I enjoy drinking red bull, going to music festivals and looking at the stars. Ever since I was younger I always enjoyed drawing and coloring and had such an explorative imagination. After our first scheduled class, I am nothing but excited and eager for the rest of the semester. With my concentration being creative advertising, in order to have a successful career in the future, being familiar with different digital design programs is extremely important. Eventually, with my career, I would like to become a creative director in either Los Angles or New York City.  Doing something I love, in the places I love is something that I know I'm set on doing. I anticipate that this class will allow me to o...
